There are plenty of misconceptions and myths about what happens at a nudist resort. (Photo: Thinkstock)
The idea of a nudist resort can be both alluring and terrifying. We all stumble upon clothing optional beaches from time to time, but to book a vacation that is all about the nudity is a different story. We decided to get the skinny (and the not so skinny) on what really goes down at a modern-day clothing-optional hotel. Alejandro Perez, Niche Market Manager for Karisma Hotels & Resorts including nudist enthusiast property Hidden Beach Resort, strips down the misconceptions and bares all on the naked truth about what really happens at a nudist resort.
It’s Not All About Sex
One primary misconception is the conflation of nudism with sex. Actual nudists claim that nudist/naturist is a lifestyle that revolves around body acceptance and freedom. “Being a nudist is a liberating experience,” Perez said. “Our hotel as an example, is focused mainly on couples and we promote friendliness and togetherness among our guests and that’s exactly what we get.” Apparently you should Google “swingers resorts” if that’s more your cup of tea.

Second part of Paul’s review for Vritomartis.
Hi! Welcome back!
As I already promised, here’s some more about my vacation in Crete at the Vritomartis naturist hotel. Continue reading
A very nice review about Vritomartis from Paul.
Yes. I’ve been away. And now I’m back, which is a bad thing. You may wonder why so let me tell you:
I’ve been to a very nice naturist hotel in Crete (one of the Greek islands). The hotel is called Vritomartis. The name stems from a Greek Goddess who was (and perhaps still is) the patron of fishermen.
What can I say about Vritomartis? A lot.
My previous post was about naturist beaches in Greece, with Greeks taking credit for inventing nudism and practicing the tradition to date. This post will highlight naturist beaches in Crete. Despite being allowed in only a few licensed areas throughout Greece, naturism is much tolerated in a number of places. However, most of these places are not only quite beaches, but are also remote.

In Europe, the Mediterranean and its surrounding have long accepted naturism. As a result, there is a wide range of activities to perform and several destinations that accommodate naturist holidays in Europe. For instance, France is probably on the forefront when it comes to having the largest naturist resorts, including varieties of resorts for naturist holidays. Its all self-contained nudist city of Cap d’agde is well known for fun nudist activities.
